Born in England, Peter was the beloved son of Thomas and Grace Gallagher and is deeply mourned by his wife Maureen, with whom he had just celebrated 64 years of marriage on November 5th.

He is also survived by his older sister Amelia, with whom he shared cherished memories of their lives in England during World War II.
Peter led a remarkable life filled with varied interests and vocations, including soldier, Special Education teacher, factory worker, and insurance agent. Alongside his wife Maureen, he built boats, collected antique firearms, and competed in Cowboy Action matches across Canada and the U.S.A. He was also a prolific writer, having published 12 novels, including "The Pinfire Lady" series, and over 20 articles for The Journal of the Royal Artillery.
Peter emigrated to Canada in 1959, where he met Maureen at a New Year’s Eve party and proposed just a week later. They settled in Woodville, Ontario, where they have lived for the past 37 years. Peter's witty conversations and love for people will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
