Lise Chrétien-Gardner
November 22, 1955 ~ December 5, 2024
It is with immense sadness that the family announces the passing of Lise Chrétien-Gardner on December 5, 2024, at the age of 69. Daughter of the late Roméo Chrétien and the late Blanche Chrétien (née Pressé), Lise was the cherished wife of Michael Gardner and devoted mother to Christian Gardner (Angela Simpson) and Jonathan Gardner (Andreea Popa).
Lise dedicated her career to education, serving the Conseil scolaire catholique du nord de l’Ontario (CSCNO) with passion and integrity. From her beginnings as a teacher to her roles as school principal and superintendent, she was particularly devoted to advocating for children with special needs, ensuring they received the care, resources, and opportunities they deserved.
Outside of her professional life, Lise lived life to the fullest with her husband, Mike. Together, they traveled the world, explored cycling trails, and played pickleball, a sport she loved for its joy and the social connections it fostered. She led her life with strength, elegance, and a vibrant spirit, leaving a remarkable legacy.
On a personal level, Lise was warm and compassionate, always ready to listen and offer thoughtful advice. Her kind and nurturing nature touched the lives of everyone she met.
She is survived by her siblings: Carmen Corriveau (Armand), Robert (Jeannine), Pierrette Dalcourt (Gérard), Rhéal (Pauline), Hubert (Lucie), Michel (Jocelyne), Sylvie Chrétien-Makela (Richard), and Alain. She also leaves behind many cousins, nephews, and nieces. She was predeceased by her siblings Normand, Marcelle, Raymond, and Jean-Marc.
