JAMES, George Chiton "Chic" - Passed away peacefully, at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the age of 89.
Beloved husband of the late Kathryn "Carol" James; loving father of Kathy Coskey (Keith), Janice (the late Jeffrey Dawson), Lori (James Burton), Joni Laing (Douglas), Allen (Loreli), Chris (Jo-Anne) and Jon (Walter Sergejew); proud grandfather of Shannon, Ryan, Holly, Meaghan, Tiffany, Trevor, Matthew, Nicholas, Daniel, Alexie, Lauren, and Shaun; great-grandfather of Logan, Carter and Lochland; and dear brother of the late John "Jack" (Glenna) James and the late William "Bill" (Janet) James.
He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
Chic spent most of his career in the automotive industry with the Ford Motor Company until he retired as an executive after 35 years. He also served as a Trustee on the Dufferin-Peel Roman Catholic Separate School Board (now the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board) for 8 years.
The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at The Village of Tansley Woods for 8 years of caring, as well as Dr. Harricharan and Dr. Ragonetti for their ongoing medical care over the years and also to the compassionate staff at Carpenter Hospice.
Visitation will be held at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, on Thursday, August 11th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington, on Friday, August 12th, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Holy Sepulchre to follow.
