Corinne Gerbis

October 31, 1954 – December 10, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Corinne Gerbis, affectionately known as "Gerbie."

Beloved daughter of the late Francis Gerbis and Josephine Gerbis (neè Bloomer). Sister to Gary, Gregory, Christine, and Cathy. Loving Aunt to her niece Jinny. Beloved Godmother to Angela, Caitlyn, and Mary-Clare. Lifelong friend to Nancy and Merici Kaiser as well as the rest of the Kaiser clan. She will be greatly missed by her loyal fur baby, Charlie, the St. Francis de Sales community, her coworkers and friends at McEachnie Funeral Home, and the rest of the Brock Road gang.

Corinne will always be remembered for her youthful spirit and her fondness for The Beatles, her Halloween Birthday costume parties, and Snoopy. Corinne was deeply committed to supporting Catholic youth through confirmation preparation, the RCIA program, Toronto World Youth Day, and her financial and spiritual support for a school in Ghana, Africa, where she participated in a mission trip.

Corinne celebrated her 70th birthday on a pilgrimage to Italy with friends and parishioners of St. Christopher's Parish. She fulfilled her heartfelt desire to be in our Holy Father's presence on her milestone birthday.

Friends will be received at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road (Pickering Village), Ajax, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1001 Ravenscroft Road, Ajax, on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery, with a reception at the McEachnie Family Centre from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

In Corinne's memory, attendees are encouraged to wear bright colours, especially her favourite colour, orange.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or a charity of your choice are greatly appreciated.
