Laura Maria Gordon
May 3, 1938 - March 2, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laura Maria Gordon, who left us peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 2, 2025, at the age of 86. Laura was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Born on May 3, 1938, Laura lived a life filled with love and laughter. She was born in Gibraltar, spent time in England, and eventually made Canada her home. She was the beloved mother of four children: Rita Brunt (Gerald), Ruth Cook (Jim), Richard Gordon, and the late Rebecca Gordon, whom she loved immensely. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Bliss (Corey), Jara (Rob), Alyssa (Steven), Brittany (Stephen), Brandon (Miranda), Jacob (Hannah), Reagan, and McKenzie, and a cherished great-grandmother to eleven: Landon, Laura Christina, Logan, Lily, Leo, Lucas, Liam, Brody, Amaya, Maisie, and Clara James, all of whom she adored.
Laura will be remembered for her kindness, love of music, and her commitment to family and community. She was a devoted member of her church, where she found great joy in fellowship and service. Laura carried a firm testimony of her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved to travel and experience new adventures, visiting places such as China and Australia, as well as many destinations across the United States and Canada.
A celebration of Laura's life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 632 Thornton Rd N, Oshawa, Ontario. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 AM. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the service.
