Henry Goschl
November 9, 1930 - February 8, 2025
Henry Goschl immigrated to Canada in 1955 and soon after met his wife and life partner, Joan.
He began his career at GMC, where he worked for 35 years.
A man of God, Henry had a deep love for nature and all creatures. He was a true woodsman,
known for keeping the tidiest woodpile for miles. Even in his seventies, he showed his resilience
when he fell into – and climbed out of – a deep abandoned well.
Although quiet by nature, Henry was never afraid to speak his mind. He loved indulging in Duff Gordon or a Riesling,
always toasting to his company’s health and insisting they do the same. His stories and jokes filled rooms with laughter,
and his strong handshake and warm hugs made an unforgettable impression.
Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan (née McCoy), his parents, and his two siblings in Austria.
He is survived by his children Charles (Dina), Martin, and Francis, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The Hendren Funeral Home – Lakefield Chapel.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Henry may be made to Hospice Peterborough by calling 705-652-3355
