Emily Mary Green

February 5, 1930 – December 24, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Emily Green, on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024, at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.
Predeceased by her husband and best buddy Fred, Emily will be deeply missed by her children Brenda (Bill Lackman), Cindy (Bill Leighton), Roger (Carolyn), Michael (Patricia), and Richard (Catherine Collins).
She was a cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren.

The family is incredibly grateful for the compassionate care given to Emily at the Stayner Care Centre and Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. Special thanks go to her dear friend Sheelagh for her devoted attention and care.

Emily was born on February 5, 1930, in Winnipeg, the eldest of fifteen children. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Emily lived a remarkable life filled with love, strength, and passion.
Her joy for gardening, cooking, baking, and quilting will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Her love for hockey and her famous homemade "petit heads" will live on in the memories of her family and friends.

After many years in Winnipeg and Markdale, Emily eventually moved to Collingwood, where she spent her final years surrounded by family and friends.
Her dedication to family and her adventurous spirit will always be an inspiration.

A private Celebration of Life will be held with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily’s memory can be made to your local Salvation Army.
