GUST, Mary (Mollie) Leslie (nee Gregg) Gust -
July 5, 1933 – July 13, 2024

Mollie Gust was called home to be with Jesus Saturday July 13, 2024 at Bowmanville in her 92nd year.

Born in Bellaghy, Northern Ireland to Willi and Eva Gregg, Mollie was the oldest of seven children. In 1953 the family of nine emigrated to Canada and settled in Toronto. Here Mollie gave her life to Christ at a Billy Graham crusade and in 1960 married Sam Gust. They eventually welcomed two children.

Mollie’s life was driven by her faith and as such she was an active church member throughout her years; teaching Sunday School, managing the church kitchen and participating in a variety of choral groups including many duets with Sam.

In 1969 the couple relocated to Oshawa and finally to Bowmanville in 1973. These moves were where Mollie’s heart for the lost met her true calling in operating homes for individuals living with mental illness. She dearly loved this work and through the years they owned and operated three of these residences where Mollie remained a loving caregiver and passionate advocate.

Mollie enjoyed travelling the world during her retirement and she and Sam spent many happy winters in Lakeland, Florida.

Mollie was preceded in death by her husband Sam (2018), her parents, siblings Yvonne, Essen, Noel, Margaret-Rose, and Leslie. Mollie is survived by her children, Jonathan (Heather) Gust and Leah (Peter) Gust Chatterton, her three beloved grandchildren, Josh, Sam and Eva and her sister Irena (Klaas) Zwiers.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 31, 2024 12:30pm at Morris Funeral Chapel in Bowmanville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 31, 2024 at 1:30pm with Rev. Vic Stonehouse officiating.

Interment will follow
