Joseph “Bryce” Handley
November 29, 1939 - November 30, 2024
Joseph “Bryce” Handley passed away peacefully at home on the farm where he had lived for 52 years.
For 62 years, he was the beloved husband to Arleen (nee Coulter). He was proud of his family: daughter Jackie and her husband Brian and grandsons Joseph and Sam; daughter Joanne and her husband Shane Williams and grandsons Jared and Lucas; and his son Keith and his wife Lesley, and grandchildren Blake, Owen, and Paige.
Bryce is survived by his sisters Trudy (the late Ron) Sheehey, Ruth, and Beth, and his brother Brent (Debbie), as well as his nieces and nephews.
Bryce had a love of farming, beef cattle, and mechanics that he proudly shared and saw develop in his children and grandchildren. He worked at St. Mary’s Cement, Bowmanville, Ontario, for 30+ years as Quarry Foreman in his later years. Bryce enjoyed traveling to Florida for a number of years in his retirement with Arleen and a close group of friends, returning to continue his work on the farm during the other ten months of the year.
As per Bryce's wishes, a private family memorial will take place at a later date.
If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements entrusted to Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville.
