QUICK, Harry Charles - Passed away peaceful surrounded by family on August 28th, 2017 at the age of 76 after battling cancer.
Harry has survived by his son Jason (Christa), daughter Jackie and brother Ted (Sherry).
Predeceased by his wife Shirley Ann Quick (Hull), mother Janna Quick (van Oeveren) and father Charlie Quick, two sisters Earla Standish and Audrey Mahood. Harry will be missed by his two grandchildren Thomas and Victoria and by many nieces and nephews.
After coming to Canada from Holland at age 13, he joined the Canadian Army as an Engineer. Then worked as a fireman for the City of Peterborough for 25 years before he retired at the age of 50.
He enjoyed many things through his life, fishing, traveling, telling stories of his days stationed around the world for the Army, and always had a sense of humour.
His family would like to invite everyone join in a memorial service and reception for Harry on September 2nd at Highland Park Funeral Centre, Peterborough. Visitation will be held at 9:30AM, memorial service at 10:30AM and reception to follow.
Jason and Jackie would like to extend their gratitude to Applewood Retirement home, Hospice and all the nurses who cared for him. Special thanks goes to Dr. Jeffrey Neville for his care and compassion over the years. He truly was more than a Doctor to Harry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
