HEMPHILL,Joanne Bernice “ Tammy “ HemphillHEMPHILL, Joanne Bernice “ Tammy “ (nee Diduch) Hemphill   -
23-Aug-1957 - 20-Jun-2024

Passed away suddenly on June 20 , 2024 at her cottage in the presence of her loving husband David and her sister Janice.

Tammy, as she was known to most , leaves behind David, her mother Carole Diduch (nee Roy), her siblings Linda ( Bob ), Janice ( Jim ), Julie ( Paul ) , Teri ( Tish ) and Tricia ( Andrew). Sadly Tammy was predeceased by her father Joseph Diduch and her sister Christine (Andy).

Tammy also leaves behind her many nieces and nephews. cousins, aunts, uncles and a large community of friends and associates that she has met over the years.

Tammy was born in Blind River Ontario and grew up in Sudbury. After finishing college in the Law and Administration course she pursued a career in the Insurance Industry.

Tammy had a very successful and fulfilling career starting with Royal Insurance in Sudbury and Ottawa and then moving to the GTA with Western Assurance.

In 1995 Tammy went to work at the Facility Association (FA) in Toronto and she was employed there until her retirement in 2022.

Tammy was a compliance auditor with FA and she obtained great satisfaction from her role which prior to the outbreak of Covid took her all over Canada on various audits. She has also involved for a time with the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association as a member of their executive.

An accomplished piano player she loved to play and to compose songs for friends and family on special occasions. She loved the outdoors and she was a long-time member of the Scarborough Cross Country Ski club, long-time member of the Goodlife club and an avid walker and for the last 18 years she had been regularly walking with her dear friend and neighbour Karen. Cooking, entertaining, doing puzzles, playing cards, crosswords and spending time at the cottage was what brought joy to Tammy.

She was a nurturing and selfless woman and she carried herself with the highest degree of dignity and grace, however she could still giggle like a teenager when certain events occurred.
