Jennifer Doreen Heriot
February 2, 1978 – February 7, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennifer Doreen Heriot (née Devitt) on February 7, 2025, at the age of 47.
Born on February 2, 1978, to Neil Devitt and Gwen Doreen Devitt (née Skitch), Jennifer was one of two children and is predeceased by her mother.
She is survived by her brother Michael J. Devitt (Pam).
Jennifer met and fell in love with Wade Heriot of Oshawa, Ontario. They were married on August 8, 2009, and shared a beautiful life together for 16 years.
A devoted and loving mother to Brandon Devitt (Kayla) and Hope Heriot, Jennifer instilled in her children a sense of fearlessness, fun, and independence.
She dedicated over 24 years of service at Metro, starting as a baker and eventually becoming the dairy manager.
Jennifer was also an active member of the Canadian Corps Association, serving on the Women's Auxiliary and volunteering at various events and receptions.
A passionate competitor, Jennifer loved bingo and darts and was known as a high-out player in her leagues.
She also had a deep love for the outdoors, embracing adventures in her Jeep, paddle boarding, camping, and visiting "her mountain."
Jennifer had a special place in her heart for bulldogs, sharing her home with three beloved furry companions – Lulu, Millie, and Aurora – along with her McCaw, Madison.
Her sudden passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who loved her deeply.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennifer’s memory may be made to the Canadian Corps Association Oshawa or Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Oshawa Funeral Home.
