Edward Hibma

August 1, 1956 - December 23, 2024

Edward Hibma of Owen Sound passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 68. Born in Owen Sound on August 1, 1956, Ed was a loving father, brother, partner, and friend to many.

He will be deeply missed by his sons, Aidan Hibma (Shawna) of St. Catherines and Gage Hibma of Owen Sound, and their mother, Charlene Hibma. Ed is also survived by his siblings Gord, Rudy, Dick, Irene Boettger (Daryl), Rob (Aniko), and Sandra Hibma. His partner Kathy Harker, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends, will also miss him dearly.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, Dirk and Janny Hibma, and his brother James Hibma. Those who loved Ed remember his unique and humorous perspective on life, his kindness, and his deep love for family and friends. He lived life to the fullest and always stayed true to himself.

Professionally, Ed worked in various roles, including sailing, working at the Owen Sound Hospital, and Ontario Power Generation, before retiring. In retirement, Ed pursued his passions, including golfing, playing darts at the Owen Sound Legion Hall, and traveling to warm destinations where he could golf. He cherished time spent with his family and his community.

As per Ed's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound (519-376-7492).
