Wayne Arthur Hills
March 29, 1946 – October 30, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Hills on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 78. Wayne passed away peacefully at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary (nee Tarpos), and his loving daughters Cindy (Roberto Sanchez) and Cathy (Tom Shea). Predeceased by his parents, Gordon & Elizabeth Hills, and brothers Aldin & Albert Hills, Wayne is also survived by his sister-in-law Evalyn, brothers Doug (Sheila) and Harold, brother-in-law Steven Tarpos, and grandchildren Alexander and Benjamin, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

In the 1980s, Wayne was a spirited salesman at Fell Fab Products and later became CEO of International Filter Fabrics. His passion for family, baseball, and the outdoors defined him. He loved fishing trips to Stoney Lake with his brothers and nephew and was a connoisseur of good food, from fish and chips to his favorite Red Rockets Wings.

Wayne’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jurgens and the staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre, and especially to the compassionate team at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, including Debbie, Erin, Brenda, Jenn, Sara, and Gary, who brought comfort and care to his final days.

Friends and family are invited to Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Sunday, November 3rd, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., with memorial prayers at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, 233 E 15th St, Hamilton, on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
