Alston HirokoALSTON, Hiroko Grace - Peacefully at home, on Wednesday, August 30th, 2017 with her daughter by her side.

Beloved wife of the late Reverend Harold Alston.

Loving mother of Hana Alston (Henrik Soederlund) and the late Francine Alston. Fondly remembered by her relatives and friends.

Born in Sapporo, Japan but spent most of her formative years in Tokyo. Hiroko convocated from the prestigious, private, Anglican St. Paul's University in Tokyo. After working for a few years at a large bank in Tokyo, she decided to pursue graduate studies in Toronto at Trinity College (University of Toronto, St. George Campus).

Hiroko had a lifelong passion for the arts in particular fine art, world literature, and culinary pursuits. Her greatest appetite, though, was for classical music, more specifically classical concerts. An avid fan of great classical musicians including Mitsuko Uchida, Yo-Yo Ma, Jan Lisiecki, and Angela Hewitt. With a discerning ear, she carefully curated her classical music collection with knowledge and a discriminating palate.

Memorial service will be held at ROBERT J. REID & SONS - The Chapel on the Corner, 309 Johnson Street, Kingston on Saturday, September 16th at 11 o'clock in the morning, followed by a reception. Interment of ashes in Cataraqui Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the United Church World Development and Relief Fund or to the Presbyterian World Service and Development or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
