Scott Hodgins

1972 – 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Scott Hodgins, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the age of 52. Scott passed away unexpectedly at University Hospital in London, Ontario, at 11:01 AM due to an unforeseen health emergency. He was the dearly beloved son of Joan Rosehart and stepfather Lenny of Goderich. Scott was predeceased by his father Glenn Hodgins (2020), stepmother Grace Hodgins (2016), and grandparents Harvey & Lois Hodgins and Russell and Dorothy Oesch.

Scott is survived by his siblings: Dennis Hodgins (Taryn Holmes) of Sherwood Park, AB; Michelle MacDonald (Elliott) of Lucknow; Kristy Savage (Ken) of Sarnia; and step-siblings Shanna Barnim (Brian) of Bayfield and Shelley Bryson (Dave) of Exeter. He was a proud uncle to Caresse, Spencer, Koedi, Kurtis, Kylie, Ethan, Chelsea, Karaleena, and Blake.

A farm boy at heart, Scott worked at The Andersons (W.G. Thompson) in Hensall for 25 years. Outside of work, Scott was an avid sports fan who loved playing soccer and baseball. He enjoyed attending London Knights hockey games, Blue Jays baseball games, and Leafs games. Scott also enjoyed watching football on TV and never passed up a game of euchre. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hensall Branch 468.

Scott’s legacy of kindness continues through his decision to give the Gift of Life via organ donation through the Trillium Gift of Life Network. The family encourages everyone to consider supporting organ donation and having discussions with their loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, Exeter, on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at 2 PM (please arrive by 1:45 PM), with Bob Heywood officiating. A reception and celebration of life will follow the service at the Exeter Legion, 316 William Street, Exeter, from 3:30 PM to 6 PM, where stories and memories will be shared among family and friends. A private interment has taken place at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery, Brinsley.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Hensall Branch #468, would be appreciated by the family. Condolences can be offered online.
