MacNAIR, Ian Donald - Born January 31, 1958 passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday February 13th, 2018.
Loving husband to Gwen (née Mayhew), father to Laura (Trevor), and Heather (David). Brother of Neil, Bruce (Mihaela), Janet (Russ), and the late Sandra. Son of Marjorie and the late Donald MacNair.
Ian was a successful CFO and philanthropist, sitting on multiple charity boards including Variety-A Children’s Charity (Chair and Director), and Osteoporosis Canada (Director and Vice Chair).
In his spare time you would find Ian working out at his favourite gym, The Ontario Racquet Club or enjoying the MacNair family farm in Huntingdon, Quebec. Some of his favourite hobbies included making pickles and chocolates, skiing, and travelling.
Ian was also a very loyal family man; his wife and two daughters were always his number one priority. He spent countless hours mentoring his daughters and spoiling his wife. His sudden passing from liver cancer has been deeply felt by his loved ones and he will always have a place in our hearts.
We invite you to join us for the celebration of Ian’s life at Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery at 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, Ontario. The visitation will be held on Thursday February 22nd from 4 pm - 8 pm, and the service will be held on Friday February 23rd at 1 pm followed by a reception.
