Keith James

Passed away on February 20, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keith James. He passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on February 20, 2025.

Keith will be dearly missed by his high school sweetheart, best friend, and wife of over 54 years, Bonnie; children Jenny Lynne (Tim) and Beau (Sylvie); and his grandsons Lawson, Tanner, and Will. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Keith was predeceased by his father, George James; mothers, Mary James and Marianne Schroeder; brother, Bruce; and sister, Shirley. He is survived by his brothers, Jim and Ken, and his sister, Sally.

A man of many passions, Keith had a deep love for cars, boats, aviation, and heavy equipment. He restored a classic Corvette that toured across Canada, and as a teenager, he was featured in the local paper for converting a horse-drawn carriage into a fully drivable vehicle. Growing up at the family cottage, Keith developed a lifelong love for boating, and in his 20s, he earned his solo pilot’s license at the Oshawa Airport.

Known for his creativity and innovative thinking, Keith had a natural talent for building custom furniture, home renovations, and even crafting his own unique cooking recipes. He enjoyed spending time in his workshop designing and constructing radio-controlled airplanes and boats. His love for design and craftsmanship lives on through his children and grandsons.

As an entrepreneur and site developer, Keith took great pride in overseeing large-scale construction and infrastructure projects, transforming undeveloped land into lasting foundations and roadways.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Lakeridge Health Oshawa’s Dr. John Kennedy, Dr. Audrey Li, and nurse Barb, as well as Brooklin Medical Centre’s Dr. Dylan DeMarco, for their compassionate and excellent care.

A formal service will not be held at this time; however, a **Celebration of Life** for Keith will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations in Keith’s memory may be made to Community Living South Muskoka.

Online condolences may be shared at Oshawa Funeral Home.
