Cavanagh JoanCAVANAGH, Joan Katherine (née Hardwick) - Unexpectedly after a perfect day with family at her home on Buckhorn Lake, on Sunday, July 31, 2016 in her 77th year.

Beloved wife for 50 years of the late Richard "Dick" Cavanagh. Dear companion of Arthur "Art" Farrell.

Loving Mum of Katharine Bork (Greg), Diane Mather (Greg), Christine Caissie (Mike), Carolynn Sutherland (Scott), Angela Cavanagh (Jeff Sangster) and Ruth Snider (Stuart).  Proud Nana of Alex, Adam, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Megan, Julia, Ella, Jack, Kate, Molly, Maddy, Gracie, Clare and Will. 

Special friend to her four legged Heidi. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. 

Joan was a hardworking, energetic and caring nana, mother and nurse.  She enjoyed quilting, spending time in the sun, travel and fun with her grandchildren (to whom she was always a confidante).  She had a vast social circle and loved creating joy in others.

Joan retired from PRHC after working as a registered nurse for 45 years.   

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 4th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 5th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 300 County Road 8, Douro. Interment of the urn and family tributes to follow.

In honour of Joan, donations can be made to Sick Kids Hospital Toronto.
