Romeo Jodah
October 15, 1974 – October 15, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Romeo Jodah on his 50th birthday, October 15, 2024. Though his time with us was brief, we are deeply grateful for the love, joy, and laughter he brought to our lives.
Born in Berbice, Guyana, Romeo moved to Queens, New York as a teenager, where his journey led him to the love of his life, Wandita. Together, they built a beautiful life in Southern Ontario, Canada, sharing 27 years together, 25 of which they were married. Their greatest joy was raising their two children, Elijah and Eriana. Romeo's family was his pride and joy, and every aspect of his life was driven by his devotion to them.
Romeo embodied the essence of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 through his actions—always kind, patient, and selfless, with an innate willingness to help anyone in need. His infectious laughter and joyful spirit made him the heart of every gathering, whether dancing, sharing a joke, or cheering on a basketball game with family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Romeo is survived by his wife, Wandita; their children, Elijah and Eriana; his seven siblings; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and in-laws across Guyana, the United States, and Canada. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 974 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON, on Friday, October 25, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by cremation at Bayview Crematorium, 740 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington. A reception will follow.
Though we mourn Romeo’s loss, we find comfort in celebrating the incredible life he lived. He brought light, love, and laughter to the world, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
