COOKSON, John Charles - After a long, happy life, John Charles Cookson went to sleep surrounded by his loving family at home on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.
Born in Winkleigh, Devon, England, on March 3rd, 1934, John was fourth of ten children born to John and Edith Cookson of Nantwich, England.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Carolyn, their children, Jennifer Lyndon (Robert), Stacey Jansen (Peter), Jason Cookson (Christine), Stephanie Jutras (Glen), and Morgan Cookson (Randi), and grandchildren, Jessica, Taurean, Cobey, Nevan, Lauren, Cohen, and Clark.
John spent his early career at A. V. Roe Canada Limited, Jaguar of British Leyland in New Zealand, and retired after thirty-seven years with TransCanada Pipelines.
John will be fondly remembered for his kind, generous nature and his British wit. He loved the outdoors, travelling, time at his Old Mill Hunt Club, and especially time with his beloved family.
Services will be held at Reynold’s Funeral Home, Bracebridge, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
