Evelyn Jones

May 6, 1925 – December 8, 2024

Passed away peacefully at Chapman House Hospice on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Born in North Keppel on May 6, 1925, Evelyn Alice Jones (née Drane) of Owen Sound, was in her 100th year.

Beloved wife and best friend of the late Raymond Jones. Loving mother of David Jones of Burlington, Brenda Greavette (Butch) of Owen Sound, Cindy Courtois (Rick) of Waterloo, and Shannon Hall (Don) of Owen Sound. Cherished grandmother of Jonathan Courtois (Erin), Kristopher Courtois (Chrissy), Tanner Courtois (Tori), Torrie Bell (Peter), and Taylor Holte (Dustin) and 18 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Florence McCallum and sister-in-law of Barb Drane. Evelyn will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Sadie Drane, her grandson Jason Greavette, granddaughter-in-law Anita Courtois, her siblings Charles Drane, Blanche Drane, Betty Dawson, Beverley Drane, Raymond Drane, and in-laws Ray McCallum, Stan Dawson, and Jessie Drane.

A memorial service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on January 4, 2025, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
