KIRKPATRICK, Karen - (December 2, 1953 to August 26, 2017) - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Kirkpatrick.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, Ielene and Ian "Scotty," both of Creemore. Survived by her sisters, Kim Cormier (John) and Koni Jones (Chris); her nieces and nephews Angie, Chelsea, Ian, and Phillip and her cousin, Joan Truax (Bill).

Karen lived her adult life in London, working at Vanier Children Services, as a Child & Youth Counsellor and Supervisor, for over 25 years.

Karen had a zest for life and was always very active, teaching aerobics, playing volleyball, baseball, travelling to music festivals in Chicago, Memphis, New Orleans, and Ottawa. A 6-week adventure to Southeast Asia was a highlight for her – riding elephants, rafting down mountainsides, eating exotic food. Most important were her annual trips to her beloved Barbados.

She was fun to be around and always up for new adventures. Karen made friends wherever she went. Karen will be remembered for her sense of humour, love of music and joy for life. She will be missed by her friends and family.

Many thanks to Dr. Bevan and the team at Glendale Crossing, who cared for Karen these past years, Barb and Maureen for their compassion, and to Karen’s friends for their visits.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Fawcett funeral homes, Collingwood/Creemore.
