STEER, Karl Michael - September 24, 1944 – September 17, 2018
It's with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Karl Michael Steer, on September 17, 2018 in Toronto.
Karl was colourful and joyful, interested in many topics.
He loved in-depth discussions with anyone who would engage him. He maintained many rich connections from his time teaching Biology at Seneca College for over 20 years, and from his days working at CP Rail.
Some of his deepest ties endured from his pre- and post-medical school days, from Kingston College, Jamaica, and the University of the West Indies. He left Jamaica in 1972 to train as a surgical resident in Urology at Toronto Western, and rotated through the other teaching hospitals of downtown Toronto.
Left to mourn are his daughters Tracey and Nikola, his son-in-law Martin Gravel, and grandchildren Oliver and Ava Scarlett, his brother Peter, cousin Lance Booth, nieces and nephews from his extended family, and his former wife Patricia, with whom he maintained a friendly and respectful relationship.
Cremation has taken place. Please join us for an informal gathering to remember his life, Saturday, October 20th from 1-3 p.m. at Revival Restaurant, 783 College St., Toronto, ON M6G 1C5.
