Elli Theresa Altrock Kennedy

November 27, 1929 - November 28, 2024

Peacefully, with family by her side at Brightshores Health System, Southampton, Elli Theresa Altrock Kennedy passed away as she began her 96th year. She was the loving wife of the late Malcolm Kennedy and devoted mother to Karin (Henry Zottl), Lloyd (Susan), Carleton, Wendy, and Suzanne.

Cherished Oma to Brad, Theresa (Harmon), James (Danielle), Laura, Nathan (Taylor), and Roy. Proud Uroma to Leo. Elli’s legacy of love and strength will be treasured by her family and all who knew her.

Born in Königsberg, Germany (East Prussia), Elli’s early life was shaped by World War II, after which she immigrated to Canada, where she met her husband Malcolm. Together they built a family and a life full of love, advocacy, and community involvement in Southampton, Ontario. Elli served passionately on the Board of Directors for Community Living and town councils, leaving a lasting impact.

Elli’s joys included gardening, sewing, reading, and time spent in her beautiful garden. Her quick wit, warm heart, and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank or a charity of your choice. A service for friends will be held at the Chapel at Elgin Lodge, with details to be announced. A spring Celebration of Life and family interment are also planned.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Tabrown Funeral Home.
