Wagget KimberlyWAGGET, Kimberly Anne -

February 18, 1969 – December 17, 2023

Today the world mourns the unexpected passing of a very loving and loved individual, Kimberly Anne Wagget.

Kim is survived by her soul mate, husband Martin.

As loving ‘Mom’ to her cherished children Brad Doyle (Shelby) and Kyle Doyle (Anais), ‘Grammi’ to her sweetheart granddaughter Ryan Sage Doyle, ‘Daughter’ to her mother Sandra Boddy and her step-mother Estelle Bailey-Greenslade.

‘Big-sis’ to her brother Mark (Mike) Greenslade, ‘Sis’ to many extended family members, ‘Kimi’ as niece/cousin to her cherished aunt Glenda DeSilva and her loving Akehurst family, she is survived by so many, to whom she dedicated her whole heart. She is missed by her entire Wagget family with whom she bonded so closely, as well as numerous people she called family, as a foster-sister, best friend, and community leader.

The family wants to acknowledge the first responders of Selwyn township and the paramedics of Peterbourgh for their heroic efforts.

Born in Bermuda, Kim grew up in Canada, always ‘ahead of her peers’, dedicating herself to excellence, high achievement, and leadership roles from her very early years and throughout life; two years ahead of her age group with honours in school, graduating top of her class at Durham College with her Secretarial Engineering Diploma, starting her 30-year nuclear career at Ontario Power Generation at only 20 years of age, becoming the ‘first non-traditional’ (highly skilled clerical worker chosen to become a radiation tech), all while raising her amazing boys, participating in her community, being the nucleus to a loving family, and seeking her soul mate.

Kim spent her entire life working for others as a mother, spouse, supporter, leader, and advocate for all those around her, a rock for whomever was in need.

It was ingrained within her to make the world a better place and something her many friends and family will remember her for; advising in committees, leading holiday ‘Food & Toy Drive’, participating in Habitat for Humanity efforts, advocating for Women in Nuclear internationally receiving “Unsung Hero” award, becoming a Chief Steward in 2013, being elected to PWU Executive Board, serving as Staff Officer.

Passionate, dedicated, and having a tenacity to everything she did, while sharing her warm heart, sense of humour, and charisma. Kim has even sported a “BE HAPY” license plate since her first car!

Kim had a green thumb that loved the sunshine, water, caring for her granddaughter, and hosting to bring family, friends, and community together to encourage the best part of life, sharing with others.

In loving memory, Let’s celebrate her life and attempt to be part of who she was!

Per Kim’s desires, there will not be a visitation or funeral, but a Celebration of Life planned for January.

Arrangements with Newcastle Funeral Home.

If so desired, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of Kim’s father, Sidney Greenslade and step-father, Douglas Boddy.
