M.F. Ruth (Olver) King
October 16, 1942 - November 29, 2024
It is with heavy hearts, and great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth in her 82nd year, who peacefully went to her heavenly home in her sleep, with her family by her side at Oak Ridges Hospice. Beloved wife of late husband Winston for 58 years. Predeceased by her parents Vernon and Althea Olver, brother Carl Olver, and daughter-in-law Brenda King. Loving mother to Shirley Bushby (Mel), David (Janet), Cathy (Mark Chase), Danny, and Dwayne (Kathy). Nana to 31 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Also lovingly remembered by her brothers, sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Her passion for both gardening and quilting wasn’t just a hobby but a way of creating and sharing beauty, one bloom and one stitch at a time. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the gardens she nurtured, the quilts she crafted, and the love she gave so freely. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and supporting staff at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital and Oak Ridges Hospice.
Visitation will take place at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street S., on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A service will take place at the Uxbridge Baptist Church, 231 Brock Street W., Uxbridge, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, Ruth will be laid to rest at the Uxbridge Cemetery.
