Suzette passed away surrounded by family at Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Monday, July 2, 2018.
Survived by her loving husband; Albert Alexander Mayling of 35 years.
Cherished mother to Ben Genereaux of Tamworth and Barbara Genereaux of Trenton. Loving grandmother to Rachel McIvor.
Sister of Richard Switzer of Napanee, Helen Millar of Trenton, late Roy Switzer of Shannonville, Nancey Muise of Calgary, Marion Lisk of Stockdale, Pauline Vardy of Trenton and Steven Switzer of Tweed.
Suzette will be missed by her large extended family and friends.
Aquamation has already taken place. The family will receive friends at Wartman Funeral Home - Napanee Chapel on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 11:00 am.

LABUTONG, Manuel (Manny) Taberna - Retired Porter Dispatcher, Kingston General Hospital.
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Manuel "Manny" Labutong on Canada Day, July 1, 2018 at the age of 76.
After a hot and sunny day filled with music, family and friends visiting, Manny passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 51 years, Lourdes, by his side at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KGH).
Proud father of Lory-Ann (Greg) Thompson of Ottawa ON, and Aileen (Stephan) Diment of Kingston ON.
Cherished Lolo/Coco of Jordan, Caleb, Nathan and Grace.
Fondly remembered by his extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.
Always one to give out advice or a life lesson, he continued to do so in his last days.
His deep voice, smile and laugh will be missed by many, including his companions at dialysis as well as those who shared in his enjoyment of playing the slot machines.
The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home - Kingston Chapel on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 3-8 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow. A reception will follow the burial at Funeral Home, Reception Centre.
Friends desiring may contribute by cheque or credit card to the UHKF Cancer Centre or the Kidney Foundation.

Brother of the late Bev MacDonald; Cynthia Williston of Miramichi, NB and Heather Ballantyne of St. John NB.

LACHAPELLE, Betty Evans (nee Rowlinson) - 1921-2018
Keen intellect, rapier wit, fashionista, seamstress, puzzle and crossword maven, teddy bear creator, teacher, singer, artist and musician.
These are a few words to describe Betty.
She had joie de vivre and lived her life with enthusiasm and optimism.
Betty loved people and her comments usually brought gales of laughter to any situation.
With an adventurous spirit Betty left her job as a lab technician and travelled from Cambridge, England to Montreal, Quebec to marry a French-Canadian Air Force Communications Officer, whom she had only met 6 times during the war!
It was a love match and Edmond David Lachapelle (previously deceased), and Betty were happily married for 54 years.
After leaving England her career varied from running a co-operative nursery school to an office administrator in the Avionics division at Canadian Marconi Company for the last 25 years before retiring.
Betty and Ed moved to Kingston from Ste. Rose, Laval to enjoy their retirement and always took advantage of all the cultural events that the city had to offer.
Betty was an avid volunteer and worked at the reception desk at the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes for over 10 years.
So please raise your glass for a toast to an incredible individual, who is gone but never forgotten.
As per Betty’s wishes there will be no services.
Donations in her name can be directed to the Seniors Association Kingston Region, 56 Francis St. Kingston.

SAUNDERS, Garry Roy - 1933-2018
Passed away at Providence Care Hospital on Saturday June 30, 2018.
Garry will be sadly missed by his partner Pat O’Connor and her children Chris and Angela Simone (Allen) and his children Jeff, Kim Florent, Janice Eaton (Murray), Steph Weima (John) and Michael (Isabel) and their mother Mary Saunders.
Beloved Grandfather of Mackenzie,Sam,Tom,Stephanie,Alexandra,Tyron,Kiefer,Keegan, Liam,Quincy,Ezra,Eighren,Caolan,Ciaras,Sofia,Clara,Erika and Olivia .
In keeping with Garry’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cataraqui Conservation Area 1641 Perth Road (Division Street), Kingston, Ontario on Friday August 3, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

McBRATNEY, John Robert - of Montreal, Quebec, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Brockville General Hospital on June 30th, 2018.
John was the only son of the late Albert & Mary McBratney, born on March 30th, 1936.
John was very proud to be the father of Susan McBratney (Hugues), the late Mark McBratney and the doting grandfather of Dominique Guay (Tom).
John will be dearly missed by his best friend and loving wife, Linda McBratney.
They enjoyed many years of travel, adventures and laughter.
He had a big heart into which he welcomed his five stepchildren, Steven White (Wendy), Maureen Grady (Raymond), Michael White (Erin), Paul White (Dana) and Debbie White.
He was the much loved “Grandpa McB” to Gregory, Jason, Connor, Cameron, Hannah, Megan, Emma, Zachary, Matthew, Russell and Shayne.
John received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Concordia University. He was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by the Archdiocese of Montreal in 1997.
He retired as a Corporate Planner after 37 years with Canadian National Railway and went on to work as a Financial Adviser for London Life.
After retiring from his professional life, he entered fully into his calling to the Diaconate and served at St. Edmund of Canterbury in Beaconsfield, Quebec, and then at St. Thomas Aquinas in Hudson, Quebec.
As a Deacon, he was proud to have had the opportunity to personally baptize 9 of his 12 Grandchildren.
John was President of the Lakeshore Diabetes Group and played a major role in the establishment of the Diabetes Day Centre at the Lakeshore General Hospital.
For several years, he acted as the President of the Hudson Senior Travel Club before moving to Brockville, Ontario in 2013.
John will forever be remembered for his quirky sense of humour, which was evident to the very end, his love for his family and his fierce determination to live every moment to the fullest for as long as he could.
Funeral Mass to be held at 10:30am on Friday, July 6th at St. John Bosco Church 175 Windsor Drive, Brockville, ON.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be very much appreciated.

BERTHIAUME, Doreen (Bunnie) Margaret Elizabeth - of Brockville, Ontario, died peacefully at the age of 80 at the Brockville General Hospital on June 30th, 2018 after a lengthy issue with Alzheimer's.
Born in 1938, the eldest daughter of Paul and Ada (nee Finch) St. Pierre of Wakefield, Quebec.
Married in 1977 at Brockville, to Russell Berthiaume.
Bunnie was a registered nurse starting her career in Brockville at the maternity ward of the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital in 1960.
During her career she also enjoyed her stations at the Brockville General Hospital in the Geriatrics department and the Fulford Home on King St. East.
A caregiver as well as an accomplished singer, Bunnie's leisure activities included several plays with the Brockville Operatic Society and many weddings where she would sing for newlyweds and family.
Bunnie's gift for cheering up those in need brought her acting abilities to the forefront with funny faces, dancing and singing.
Survived by her children Derek Humble, Dan Humble, Jody Humble and Katharyn Humble, step mother to Michael Berthiaume, Tracey Countryman, Kelly Berthiaume and Cameron Berthiaume.
Grandchildren; Cody Humble, Devon Humble, step grandchildren; Melissa Berthiaume, Amber and Rose Countryman and eight great grandchildren.
Bunnie is survived by her sister Barbara Verhy brother Rich St. Pierre and her former husband Dean Humble.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Friday July 6, 2018 from 11 - 1 pm. A ceremony celebrating Bunnie's life will be held in the Chapel at 1 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the CPHC will be gratefully acknowledged.

CORSI, Giancarlo Domenico (John) - May 3rd, 1947 – June 29th, 2018
John did not want to leave.
There was still so much to do with his family and friends, especially his little flower, granddaughter Azalea.
Surrounded by his family, John passed away on June 29th, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Michele and Amelia.
John leaves behind his wife Judy (nee Clemens), daughter Dana (Mark), son Mike (Emily), granddaughter Azalea, step-grandson Braeden, and furry companion Jojo.
He is also survived by his sisters Adriana Rollins (Phil) and Mary Corsi, his Aunt Geraldine Corsi and numerous cousins.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Katherine Lockington, John’s physician and family friend, who oversaw his journey from day one.
Thank you also to a wonderful network of friends and colleagues who supported John during his illness.
John received excellent, compassionate care at the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario, from Vicki Johnson of the SE NELHIN and her palliative team, and during his stay in the Palliative Care Unit at Providence Care. Thank you.
There will be a visitation for John on Wednesday July 4th from 4-7pm at the James Reid Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be on Thursday July 5, 2018 at 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish on Days Road in Kingston. Everyone is welcome to follow in procession to Cataraqui Cemetery following the funeral mass for the burial and then to the James Reid Reception Centre for a final salute to John’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations be made to either the Cancer Center of Southeastern Ontario or the Kingston Humane Society.

ROSE, Steven Vincent - July 2, 1957- June 29, 2018
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Steven V. Rose on June 29th, from cancer.
Steve will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
He will be remembered for his leadership, work ethic, service to his profession, mentoring, good humour, wisdom and love of his family and friends.
Steve gained a passion for travel growing up and living in various countries abroad as his dad’s work had his family moving every 1-2 years.
He graduated from Queen’s University with a degree in geological engineering in ‘81 and followed that up with a master’s in civil engineering from USC.
He started his career in California where he met his wife Margit through a Sierra Club mountaineering course.
Steve enjoyed various hobbies including backpacking, rock climbing, stamp collecting, riding his motorcycle, beer tasting, listening to live music, helping out on various professional committees, and mentoring students at Queen’s.
In 1989 Steve and his business partner founded their own company in Kingston, Malroz Engineering.
In 2010 he was awarded the PEO Order of Honour and in 2018 the OSPE President’s Award for volunteering.
He was immensely proud of his 3 children, Hayley, Becky and Nick.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the U.H.K.F. (Kingston Cancer Centre) or to the Al Gorman fund at Queen’s University.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
