Nancy Kominek

1937 - 2025

Kominek: Nancy Jean (née Lawson) – A lifelong resident of Chatham-Kent, Nancy Kominek passed away at the Omni Healthcare Country Terrace, Komoka, on January 3, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born in Blenheim, Nancy was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (née Humphreys) Lawson. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Kominek (2011). Dear mother to Brian Kominek (Sheila), Janet Kominek, and Susan Graham (J.D.).

Sister to Thomas Lawson (Norma) and Margaret Lassaline; sister-in-law to Pat Lawson and Chris Lawson. Predeceased by her brothers William and Harry Lawson and her brother-in-law Thomas Lassaline.

Nancy’s family and friends will forever remember her for her love of gardening, quilting, and tole painting. She was a nurse, and after retiring, she continued to teach Nursing at St. Clair College.

Family and friends will be received at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Friday, January 10th, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Donations made in memory of Nancy to the First Presbyterian Church or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
