Louis Kovacs
1939 – 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we gather to celebrate the life of Louis Kovacs, who passed away peacefully in 2024 after a long life and a short illness. Born in Hungary in 1939, Louis immigrated to Canada in 1958 alongside his brother Paul (1938–2024). He met and married the love of his life, Janet, in 1965, with whom he shared a beautiful journey until her passing.
A skilled cabinet maker and carpenter, Louis worked tirelessly to provide for his family, including time spent at Niagara Parks. He was the proud father of Edwin (Kim), Ken (Lynn), and Elizabeth (Mike), and a devoted "Grandpaw" to Skylar (Tyler), Jordan (Hailey), Morgan, and River. Louis is survived by his siblings George and Eva, and remembered fondly by his extended family and friends.
Louis’s legacy includes his steadfast contributions to Fort Erie Minor Hockey, soccer, scouting, and his enthusiastic support of the Junior B Meteors. Known for his engaging stories and humor, he will be greatly missed by his coffee crew and Wednesday night wing buddies. He found joy in supporting his community and cherishing his family.
