Maureen Regina Kwak
Passed away on February 22, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Kwak on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. John Kwak, Maureen leaves behind a legacy of love and strength.
She was a devoted mother to Ted Chamberland (Maureen) and Shirley Robert (Todd) and a cherished "Gramz"
to her grandchildren Joshua, Mya, Hannah, Chantel, Brendan, Sienna, and Kendra. She was also a beloved
Great Gramz to Wrenley and eagerly anticipated the arrival of a great-grandson due on her birthday.
She was a dear sister to Marnie, John, Paul, and Bruce and was predeceased by her brother, David.
Maureen also found love and companionship with her dear partner, Russ Snyder, whose presence
brightened her days. She will be missed by her loving dog companion, Hazel.
A highly respected nurse at Oshawa General Hospital, Maureen mentored countless new and student nurses,
always leading with compassion and wisdom. She embodied strength, perseverance, and resilience,
inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her sense of humor, warmth, and social nature
made her a light in every room she entered. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel at home,
a true social butterfly who brought people together with ease.
More than anything, family was everything to Maureen. She treasured Sunday night dinners, where
laughter and love filled the air. She loved playing bingo, especially on Tuesday nights, and enjoyed
teaching her grandchildren the fun of the game. Her spirit, kindness, and unwavering love will be
deeply missed but never forgotten.
Please join the family to celebrate Maureen’s life at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East,

She will remain forever in our hearts.
