Pasut LauraPASUT, Laura Ann (nee MORSON)   -

December 19, 1959 - January 9, 2024

Laura welcomed everyone in her life with a warm smile and a comforting hug.

To her, family and friends were the priority and a stranger was merely a friend that she had not yet met.

She was a ray of sunshine to all and will be deeply missed.

Born and raised in Toronto, Laura embraced life from an early age. As the middle daughter of proud Canadian-Italian parents.

Laura was raised with a love for her large extended family and community.

Laura died peacefully at home surrounded by family after a year-long battle with cancer that was faced with dignity, courage, and grace.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, George; and her children, Alana, Daniel (Helen), and Marisa (Matthew). She is deeply missed by her sisters, Denise (Loris) Moretto and Jo-Ann (Dino) Genise; and by her niece and nephews: Peter, Alicia (David), Michael, and Marc. She will also be lovingly remembered by her mother-in-law, Ivanna; by her sister-in-law, Rita; and by her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Dino and Irene (née Carli) Morson; and by her father-in-law, Luciano Pasut.

The family would like to express their thanks for the compassionate care provided by Dr. Bradbury, Dr. Cho, and Dr. Banerjee at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Dr. Toupin from The Dorothy Ley Hospice community support team. Per Laura's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Family and friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home Weston Chapel, 2035 Weston Rd., Weston, on Wednesday, January 17th, from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday, January 18th, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3055 Bloor St. W. (west of Royal York Rd.), Etobicoke, on Friday, January 19th, at 11 a.m. A private entombment will be held on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation (https://cmfonline.org/).

Laura was an inspiration to all who knew her.
