John George Little

Passed Away: December 14, 2024

John George Little passed away peacefully at the Wellington Hospice in Guelph, at the age of 78. John is survived by his devoted wife Penny, his beloved sister Diane (Alex) Pappas of Vancouver, and his four sons Micah (Fang), Kyle (Pauline), Alex (Anthea), and Eric (Moein). He was a proud grandfather to Elias and Electra, and stepfather to Heather and Jessie O’Donnell. He was also an uncle to Damon (Viviane) Pappas and a brother-in-law to Stephenie (Steve).

John was a passionate outdoor education teacher in Wellington County for 30 years. He built two log homes in Grey County, which still stand proudly in the woods he so deeply loved. An avid canoeist and skier, John’s favorite season was winter, finding joy skiing miles on a cold, sunny day. His canoe trips were legendary and reflected his love of nature and adventure.

John’s family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to their neighbors and friends for their visits, gifts, support, and love during his time in the hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Lund and the amazing care team at the Hospice Wellington in Guelph for their compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Wellington in Guelph or Aboyne Hospice in Fergus would be greatly appreciated.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Dods & McNair Funeral Home.
