ZISSER, Louis -
January 14, 1934 - March 1, 2024
Passed away at Markham Stouffville Hospital after a short illness.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie; his daughter, Shirley Renshaw; son-in-law, Steve Renshaw; grandson, Paul and his wife, Alisha, grandson, Colin and his wife, Haley; and great-grandchildren, Evan, Rosalyn, Jack and Emily.
Louis emigrated from Austria at age 20. He was a pastry chef for 10 years before switching to engineering.
He worked for Ontario Hydro for 28 years. He enjoyed stamp collecting, gardening and travelling.
He became proficient at do-it-yourself projects and enjoyed helping friends and neighbours with their electrical and plumbing problems, which also included removing a family of racoons from a neighbour's chimney.
Many thanks to the staff at Stouffville Creek Retirement Residence for the care and support they gave to Louis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Louis' life will be made this summer.
