MacARTHUR, Laurance MacArthur –
February 20th 1946 – July 8th 2024
Laurance passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by family after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Laurance will sadly missed by his loving wife Suzie (nee Porter), daughters Julie MacArthur, Vicki Kuchma (David) and grandchildren Sheldon Brown, Corrigan and Charlie Kuchma and his sisters Debbie (Gary), Jeannie and brother Roland.
Predeceased by his sister Marion and fondly remembered extended family and friends.
Laurance’s early years were spent on his family’s farm in Kensington, Prince Edward Island. He set off on his own at the age of 15 to work for CN Rail. At 18 years of age he relocated west to Toronto, a year later meeting his soon to be wife of 55 years.
He spent most of his life working as a welder while moving to Whitby and settling into life at his forever home with his wife and two daughters.
A very special thank you goes out to Nelson, his dedicated PSW and all the amazing staff on G5 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
A celebration of life will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa Ontario (905-721-1234) on Friday August 9th 2024 between 4:00 and 6:00 pm.
