Dale Robert Thomas MacLean
October 10, 1950 – December 28, 2024
Two Bricks, have you got your ears on? This is the final call for Dale Robert Thomas MacLean! Dale received his final dispatch on Saturday, December 28, 2024, passing peacefully at his home in Harriston. He will be sadly missed by sisters Bonnie Henry of Kitchener and Shannon "Jill" MacLean (Don Montgomery) of Harriston.
Dale is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Adrienne Mills (Dan), Scott Mills (Eileen), Chad Henry (Laurie), and Carrie Henry; great-nieces and nephews: Alexandra, Isabella, Cole, Carly, Grayson, and Lochlan; and many cousins and friends across Canada. He will also be missed by his special friend and companion Leona Steffler and her family of Harriston.
Predeceased by his parents, George "Scotty" and Isobel (Shannon) MacLean; sister Lynda Mills; and brothers-in-law Wayne Mills and Doug Henry.
Known as “Louie” to many hometown friends, Dale was a talented goaltender in hockey and an avid baseball player with Harriston Minor Sports in the 1960s. He dedicated over 50 years to the trucking industry, with the last 45 years spent hauling cattle across Canada, the United States, and Mexico—a career that was his true passion.
A funeral service will be held at Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Don McCallum will officiate. Interment will take place at the Harriston Cemetery. The service will also be livestreamed.
