December 2, 1930 - December 23, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John on December 23, 2024. John was born on December 2, 1930, in Darlington, PEI. John lived a full and vibrant life, and to him, family was everything. He was a devoted and loving husband of Rose (nee Brown) for 71 years and a loving father to Heather (Steve) Ball, Garry (Joni), Gail, and John (Adrienne).

Predeceased by his parents, Dan Archibald MacLean and Mary Ann (nee Campbell), daughter-in-law Barbara MacLean, siblings Florence (Jud Mackinnon), Eileen (Roy Lidstone), Clayton (Shirley), and Doris, and brother-in-law Dave Carstairs.

Survived by his brother Gerald (Mavis), brother-in-law Howard MacEachern, sister-in-law Pat Carstairs, brother-in-law Ervin Brown, and former son-in-law Larry Blackman. Dearly remembered by his grandchildren Kristen (Zarnoosh), Derek (Amanda), Laura, Diana, Emily, Evan (Elana), Courtney, Tracy, Trina (David), Jillian (Rob), Jasmin, Simone, John Carter, and Kyle. Fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren Kareena, Allison, Elizabeth, Faye, Charlotte, Adriana, and Casey.

Also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the dedicated and caring staff of Heritage Harbour, Fairview Lodge, for their loving care of John during his brief residence there.
