MACLEOD, John 'Jack' Alexander - Of Chatsworth, passed away peacefully at the Country Lane Nursing Home, on September 25, 2015 in his 100th year.
Born in 1916 in Algoma County Ontario, Jack was the eldest son of the late John Alexander and Hazel Adeline (MacDonald) MacLeod, originally of Scotland.
A loving father and husband, he is survived by his four sons: John Jr. (Shelley) of Hanover, Allan (Bernice) of Chatsworth, Ross (Debbie) of Hanover, and Jim (Sharon) of Durham.
He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great children and great-great grandchildren.
Predeceased by his dear wife of 61 years, Emma (Scheuerman), sons Bill and Ernie, three grandchildren and one great grandson.
Jack grew up in Kitchener and Williamsford, attending elementary school in Williamsford and later went to middle school and high school in Chatsworth.
He proudly served his country as a member of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Core from 1941-1945; decorated with the 1939-1945 Star and War Medal and also the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal.
After his discharge, Jack began farming and became a general carpenter specializing in barn framing and roofing. He was often seen commuting from his Williamsford farm to the Chatsworth Legion by tractor. In his later years, he loved to play cards with his devoted sons every Sunday for hours.

Visitations will be Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2:00 -4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Legion service will commence at 6:00 p.m. prior to the visitation. A funeral service for Jack MacLeod will be held at the GARAFRAXA HILL FUNERAL HOME, 251 Garafraxa St., Chatsworth, on Saturday, October 3 at 11:00 am, with interment to follow.
