William "Bill" Robert Maillet

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Bill Maillet. Bill left us peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on March 17, 2025, at the age of 76.

Bill is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 52 years, Dianne; his two sons, Wes and Ash (Lori Forsyth); cherished grandson Mason; brother-in-law Jeff Bird (Sandy); nephew Dylan; and sister-in-law Laurie Walling. He was predeceased by his mother Olive Maillet, father-in-law Tom Bird, and mother-in-law Marg Bird.

Bill loved to join in whenever there was fun to be had—parties with friends and gatherings with family. He loved his many motorcycles and proudly participated in Ironbutt marathons, including the Saddle Sore and the Bunburner. He also enjoyed fishing and the occasional snipe hunt with the boys. Later in life, Bill discovered his artistic side, creating some of the most remarkable log carvings. If there was something new to try, he did it with enthusiasm.

Bill will forever be in our hearts, and we will cherish the beautiful memories we shared as a family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with words of remembrance at 3:00 PM, at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Rd, Whitby, ON. Refreshments will be served.
