Toomas Mals passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the age of 72.

Loving husband of Grace Mals, Toomas was the much-loved daddy to Barbara Mals (Lucas Collis) and Andrew Mals, and the most cherished Opa of William. He is predeceased by his sister Ann and his brother Karl. Toomas is lovingly remembered as the son-in-law of Maria Klaver and the brother-in-law of Sharon Dunbar (John), Debbie Ternowski (Rob), and Linda Klaver. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Robert Klaver.

Known for his charming storytelling and love for family and friends, Tom will be deeply missed by all. He had a special place in his heart for the people in his life and enjoyed sitting on his front porch, chatting with neighbors and passersby. He delighted in watching the bunnies and squirrels enjoying the treats he left out for them.

Tom’s greatest pleasure was giving generously to those around him, sharing his time and resources with family and friends alike. His legacy of kindness and warmth will be treasured by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd N., Whitby, on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Members of the Masonic Order are invited to assemble at 1:00 p.m. for a service in his honor, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:30 p.m. A reception will take place immediately afterward at the same location.
