Douglas “Doug” Manwell

June 26, 1943 – November 27, 2024

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Douglas “Doug” Manwell on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital, at the age of 81. Doug was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita Holgate, and stepdaughter, Jacqueline Michele Ethier (John Kingsbury). He leaves behind his cherished granddaughter, Chantale Ethier, and great-grandson, Robert Ethier, who were the light of his later years.

Doug is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Boyd and Frank Manwell, and sister, Donna Manwell. He was the son of the late Russell and Leona (Weckworth) Manwell. A true craftsman at heart, Doug devoted his life to the art of home construction. His legacy stands tall in White Lake, where he meticulously built his own home, showcasing his exceptional attention to detail.

Fondly remembered by his long-time friends, Roy and his family, Doug was admired for his storytelling, his knack for fixing anything with just a few tools, and his warm and caring nature.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Contributions in Doug’s memory may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation in appreciation of the care provided to him and many others.
