VRIEND, Marilyn Grace (nee Duncan) - R.N. - (February 22, 1955 – February 9, 2016) - Peacefully, at home, with her husband and children by her side, and the voices of her grandchildren in the background, Marilyn passed away on Tuesday February 9, 2016.
Beloved wife of Chris Vriend. Together, they poured their hearts into raising a family, while establishing a prosperous company.
Devoted mother of Kerrilyn, Scott (Trina), Jennifer (Jesse Hallsworth), Kimberly (Philip Bertrand) and Chad (Natalie Guertin).
She treasured every moment with her grandchildren: Peter, Abbigayle and Elizabeth Vaughan; Dustin and Mason Vriend; Nicholas Hallsworth and Cole Bertrand.
Dearly loved daughter of Erwin and Helen Duncan and cherished sister of Alan (Jan); Susan (Paul Boland, late Allan Crump); and Sharron (Tom Laplante).
Dear sister-in-law of Catherine (Delmer Armstrong); Connie (Norm Atherfold); Peter (Claire); Trudy (Jan Korsgaard); Ted (Teena); Francis (Donna); Marian (Ian Macdonald, late Dave Craig); Vera (Joe Hendriks); Gina (Cornel Hendrikx) Paul (Diane) and Marcel (Jennifer Caves).
Admired by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Her loving, kind, and genuine spirit touched the hearts of so many.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sarah Tuck whose exceptional care made Marilyn’s final wishes possible.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, Metcalfe, Ontario from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday February 13th.
Funeral Saturday February 14th to Parkway Road Pentecostal Church at 11 am.
