Virginia Marrazzo (née Spadafora)

With profound sadness and enduring love, the family of Virginia Marrazzo announces her peaceful passing on April 21, 2025, at the remarkable age of 101.
A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, nonna, and bisnonna, Virginia’s legacy is one of boundless love, deep faith, and unshakable family values.
Born in Donnici, Cosenza, Italy, to Giuseppe and Raffaela Spadafora, she immigrated to Canada with her beloved husband Mario and two children to build a better future.
Together, they shared over 60 years of marriage and a life full of joy, hard work, and devotion.
Virginia was the cherished wife of Mario, and loving mother to the late Frank (Mary), and Alida (Leo) Di Paolo. She was a proud nonna to Mario (the late Marisa), Mark (Leanne), David (Lori), Danielle (Harry), the late Frank Jr., and Gian Francis (Kim),
and a beloved bisnonna to Frank Anthony (Ljuba), Dante (Kendra), Paten, Lea, Elise, Daryl, Chiara, Ariana, Ethan, Marcus, Mason, Leo, Lauren, Arianna, Logan, Giulia, and Ella.
She was the dear sister of Carmenia, Giovanni, Marietta (Stano), Gennaro (Maria), Emilia (Pietro), Assunta (Santo), Ida (Franco), Laura (Luigi), Albert (Carmela), Barbara (Alfonso), and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Virginia will be remembered for her homemade delicacies, vibrant garden, warm kitchen, unwavering faith, and the Italian traditions she lovingly passed down to future generations.
Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton St. E., Hamilton, on Sunday, April 27 from 1–3 p.m. and 6–8 p.m., with vigil prayers at 6 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at All Souls Church on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10 a.m., followed by entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia’s memory may be made to the Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) and the Canadian Diabetes Association.
