Jennie Marsh
18-Dec-1937 - 23-Apr-2025
Jennie Marsh passed away at home on April 23rd in her 88th year. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill, her younger sister Vera Suddard, and her older brother Jack Rudniski.
Jennie was cherished by Bill’s son Tom (Lois), and she embraced the role of grandmother to William and Brandon, later becoming a great-grandmother to Tommy and Georgia. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews: David, Diane, Donna, Lisa, and Chris, along with their spouses.
Born into a Ukrainian family in Sudbury, Jennie moved to Oshawa as a child. She built a respected 30-year career in administration at General Motors. Most of her life was spent in Hampton, where she took great joy in gardening and outdoor life, especially birdwatching—a passion that touched many who knew her.
In the late 1960s, Jennie discovered her love of skeet shooting, beginning with the Oshawa Skeet Club. She became a devoted member of the OSSA/NSSA and served as a referee for many years, which is also how she met her husband Bill. Jennie was a dedicated member of the OSSA Board of Directors for many years.
Her achievements in the sport included multiple shooting awards, such as the Ontario Lady Champion title. A proud moment in her life was officiating at the Montreal Olympics in 1976.
In accordance with Jennie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will be held in her honour.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Mount Lawn Funeral Home.
