August 20, 1925 - November 15, 2024

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Jeanette (Jean) Martinuk. Born August 20, 1925, to Anna and Nikifor Antoniuk, Jean passed away peacefully in Niagara Falls on November 15, 2024, at the age of 99.

Jean is predeceased by her loving husband Raymond (Romie), daughter Marlene, grandson Stephen, sister Marie, brothers Nicholas, William, and Walter, and her parents. She is survived by her children: Lillian (Victor) Babiy, Marjorie Hipwell, Raymond (Wilma) Martinuk, Dennis (Debbie) Martinuk, and James (Leanne) Martinuk, as well as her beloved twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, sister Edna, brother Michael, sister-in-laws Yvonne and Cecile, and many nieces and nephews.

Jean moved to the Niagara area from Saskatchewan with her family, and soon after, she and Raymond married in 1943. Together, they raised six children on their family farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was affectionately known as Jean, Auntie Jean, Mother, Mom, Grammie, Baba, and Great-Gram.

The family would like to express special thanks to the dedicated and caring staff at Valley Park Lodge for their compassion and kindness.

Friends and family are invited to visit Morgan Funeral Home at 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, on Wednesday, November 20, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm, with interment at St. Davids-Queenston United Church Cemetery, 1453 York Road, St. Davids.
