COUKELL, Mary Coukell - Mary passed away peacefully at the Uxbridge Hospital on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
She was 88 years old. Beloved wife of the late Bill.
Mother to Michael Renzoni (Maureen Kenny), loving grandmother to Matthew and Daniel.
Brother to John Fantin (Janet), loving aunt to Lesley (Anthony Hall) and Theresa (David McClure). She moved to Uxbridge in 1997 after a career at Ashland Chemicals.
If you ever came to her house, she fed you. She was well known as a great cook who always made your favourite when you visited. You could find her cheering for Matthew and Daniel at Stouffville Clippers games.
She was also their tour guide for excursions to the zoo all summer long.
She hasn’t been out to meet the friendly crowd at McDonald’s for coffee in quite some time but she remembered them all fondly.
Special thanks go out to all those who helped ease her pain including Dr. Sara Ahmed and her long-time family doctor, Dr. Jennifer Wilson and the nurses and staff at the Uxbridge Hospital.
She will miss her new friends at Butternut Manor and the caring staff who worked to make her comfortable.
A celebration of life will be scheduled in the spring with more information to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation.
