Mary Ann Matias

September 2, 1970 – December 10, 2024

It is with sadness that we announce our dear mother Mary Ann Matias passed away in Vaughan, Ontario, with family by her side, at the age of 54. She was born in Baguio City, Philippines, to Victor Matias Sr. and Corazon Matias (née Benwic).

Loving mother of Aaron and Hazel (Zoren). Adored Lola to Zoey Iris. She is also survived by her siblings: Jocelyn (Kyle) Matias, Victor Jr. (Arlene) Matias, Rosemarie Lewellyn, and Analiza (Eufrocinio “Don”) Avila. She was a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Mary Ann’s life was filled with deep love for all of her family, her amazing friends, and her passion for cooking, playing the guitar, singing, and gardening. Her infectious spirit touched the lives of everyone she met in a beautiful way. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered always.

Visitation #1: Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill, Ontario, L3T 3Z6.

Visitation #2: Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill, Ontario, L3T 3Z6.

Funeral Mass: Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Joseph at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home. Reception to follow at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Cremation will be held privately, as per her wishes. Donations in Mary Ann’s memory may be made to Catholic Cemeteries.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home.
