McARTHUR: James Simpson; In loving memory of Jim McArthur who passed away peacefully in his 78th year at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on January 25th, 2025 with his family by his side saying their final goodbyes.

Jim was born on December 2nd, 1947 in Glasgow, Scotland. Survived by his loving wife Jean (nee Gardyne) of 54 years, their children Anne (Roy) Rogers of Kirkfield, and Brian (Rachel) McArthur of Beaverton.

Special and adored Grandpa of Ryon, Luke, Kenzie, Keeley, Kenna, and Kade. Predeceased by his parents James and Margaret (nee Simpson) McArthur of Dundee, Scotland and mother-in-law Isabella Gardyne of Beaverton. Jim was a long time resident of Beaverton and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He will always be remembered for his endless love and support for his family, Grandpa props (fist bumps), sense of humour, and strong will. He was a strong supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs, even though he never did get to see them bring home the Stanley Cup. Jim worked as an invoicing supervisor for Nexans (Canada Wire and Cable Ltd.) in Markham for 42 years, until he retired in December of 2012.
