Stephen Glen McConnell

December 2, 1966 – March 31, 2025

Stephen Glen McConnell was born in Toronto on December 2, 1966. Stephen passed away on March 31, 2025, at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital from heart and lung failure.

Stephen was known for his big personality, booming voice, and kind heart. He always had a smile and a joke. Stephen started driving all day when he was ten, in the race car ride at Disney World. He continued driving and working hard throughout his life, most recently at Trans-Ontario Express.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Kay, for whom he cared for several years before she went into long-term care; his brothers John and Gordon, with whom he enjoyed visits and rounds of golf; his sister-in-law Maria; his niece Juliet and her husband Brent, who enjoyed his fun, unique personality; his aunts Grace and Marie; and his cousins Shirley, Janet, Trace, and Jerry, with whom he shared a lifelong bond.

The family is especially thankful for Stephen's wonderful neighbours Ian, Laurie, Keith, and Yvonne, as well as his dear friend and personal support worker, who lovingly cared for him while he was ill.

A graveside service will be held at Castleton Cemetery, 2278 Spring St., County Rd. 25, Castleton, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 12:30 p.m.

Rest in peace, Stephen. We will miss you deeply.
