McDOWELL, (nee FLIGG) June Florence McDowell - left us August 6, 2024, just shy of her 97th birthday.
Predeceased by her husband, Douglas; and sister, Ruth.
Survived by her loving daughter, Patti (husband, Pat; children, TJ (fiancé, Carly) and Samantha (husband, Chris; and daughter, Sloane); son, David (wife, Sheena; children, Heather, Craig and Kirstie); her sister, Thelma; and many relatives also mourn her passing. June was a hard worker, serving 40+ years as a dental assistant.
Her most precious quality was her spirited laugh, whether watching AFV, riding bikes at their trailer near Lake Simcoe, or cottaging on Georgian Bay.
June was blessed in fulfilling her dream of having a great-grandchild, and shared tender moments with Sloane in the past few months. Sincere gratitude to everyone at The Teddington Retirement Residence, as well as palliative services through North York General Hospital. Dr. Nauth of Thornhill – you are a remarkable physician and a special person. Thank you for your 20+ year legacy of care for June.
Cremation will be followed by private interment at York Cemetery.
Goodbye my family, my life is past, I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take, Love each other for my sake. For those you love don't go away, They walk beside you every day.
